I get asked this question all the time: how do you afford to travel? Or how much do you have to save? It’s a good question. It might seem like you need thousands and thousands of dollars or be handed an amazing digital nomad job. Good news: you don’t. Every traveler I’ve met has a different method; some traveling with almost no money and working along the way, some have online jobs and some saved money before traveling (like me). I’d never claim that my way of saving money and traveling is THE smartest way or the only way. I’m hoping this blog helps show it’s not a far fetched dream to travel long-term and that it can be possible with a little hard work and sacrifice. Continue reading
Hey my name is Courtney and I’m queeeeeer! It’s something I don’t talk to everyone about, but it’s Pride Month! *rainbows* What a perfect time to share with the world a little about my queer story and queerness in Latin America.
I know everyone loves Cartagena. I received so many messages and comments about places to go and how great it is there. But I have to be honest, I didn’t love it. I’ll admit I didn’t give it much of a chance, but let me explain. Continue reading
I don’t believe in monogamy. It doesn’t come from a bitter place, it comes from experience and observing relationships around me. I haven’t believed in it for a while now. The hurt a person feels after their partner is unfaithful can be avoided. We create these walls around relationships and when something goes wrong, our world collapses. Continue reading

I had this epiphany in Cali. It’s like one day everything clicked and I realized all of the huge Colombian derrières are fake, everyone (or it seems like) has plastic surgery. Continue reading
I’ve felt unmotivated to write for over 2 weeks now. I’ve started about 5 different blog posts about cat calling (it’s BAD here), plastic surgery in Colombia, salsa dancing, traveling with a boyfriend, etc. Darien and I started a blog together. Also, started a YouTube channel. I haven’t felt compelled to post or finish any of them. It’s been a month of unfinished tasks. BUT one of my favorite months in South America. Continue reading
Twenty seven years of life. It feels good. I refuse to say I’m old or “oh my god I’m so close to 30!” I have yet to even see my first grey hair. I see 40 and 50 year olds completing iron man races. I see 90 year old yoga instructors. I still feel so young. Continue reading
OH MY GUAVA. If you’re veggie or vegan (or just like good food), PUT LIMA ON YO LIST. I’d come here again just for all the beautiful vegan food I’ve devoured. Here’s a list of 6 of my favorite spots as well as some VegTips for Lima at the bottom!
I stop by a salon in Lima, Peru to inquire how much a chin wax would be and somehow end up with a leg wax, an armpit wax, an acne facial, and a massage. Note that I did not end up getting the chin wax. Things escalated and I just went with it. Continue reading
